Treasury of Lives Receives Grant from National Endowment for the Humanities

Treasury of Lives has announced it's received a Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Division of Preservation and Access.

This grant will enable TOL to plan for the long-term sustainability of their open-access online encyclopedia of Tibet, Inner Asia, and the Himalayan region.

The will enable enhancements in data management, editorial standards, search optimization and public engagement for our resource. Over the next year and a half, TOL will be working with a team of scholars and consultants to help make TOL stronger.

The Treasury of Lives encyclopedia currently contains 1180 peer-reviewed biographies, written by a growing community of 97 scholars from North America, Asia and Europe. These historical biographies, complete with extensive bibliographies complemented by fine art and maps, are an invaluable resource to researchers in the field as well as the general public.
