Samye Dharma: Online Teachings, Support & Communities

Samye Dharma launched eighteen months ago as an Internet portal for Khabgon Phakchok Rinpoche.

Born in 1981, Rinpoche holds two lineages: the Chokgyur Lingpa treasure tradition from the Nyingma tradition and Riwoche Taklung from the Kagyu tradition.

Rinpoche's main teachers were Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche (his grandfather) and Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche.  His activities are connected to Ka-Nying Shedrup Ling, the Chogyur Lingpa Foundation, the Vajra Varahi Health Care and Samye Dharma. Rinpoche is a householder and teaches in English.

Samye Dharma (www.samyedharma.org) offers:

  • online learning and practice programs
  • streaming videos and podcasts
  • a well fed blog

Thumbs Up:

In the field of Vajrayana for Westerners, this is the most well developed site I've come across for learning and practice from afar.

And the vibe is great! Open. Pure. Accessible.

Looking ahead plans include translating the website into Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Vietnamese.

I created a free account and purchased the Asana course through PayPal. A few clicks and I was immediately starting to learn and practice.
